Our good friend Frank Sherlock was rushed to the hospital January 22nd with a sudden and mysterious illness which turned out to be a serious case of meningitis. He needed emergency surgery and also suffered a heart attack and kidney failure as a result of symptoms related to the illness. His friends have come together to help him at this critical time. We are reaching out to other friends and the poetry community on Frank's behalf.

Our good friend Frank Sherlock was rushed to the hospital January 22nd with a sudden and mysterious illness which turned out to be a serious case of meningitis. He needed emergency surgery, and also suffered a heart attack and kidney failure as a result of symptoms related to the illness.

The timing could not be worse as this attack of meningitis happened during the two month window in which Frank is without health insurance.

His friends have come together to help raise money at this critical time. We are reaching out to other friends and the poetry community on Frank's behalf. Please consider sending donations for his hospital bills, physical therapy, as well as his very expensive medications and other needs.

Corrine Fitzpatrick’s poems can be found in Cock Now and The Brooklyn Rail and on sonaweb and EOAGH. She graduated from UCSD in 2004 and is currently pursuing an MFA from PPU. Heather Nagami's first book, Hostile, was published in 2005. Her poetry and reviews have appeared in Antennae, Galatea Resurrects, Rattle, Shifter, and Xcp (Cross-Cultural Poetics). Nagami currently lives near Boston with her husband Bryan, where they run overhere press, a small press that publishes chapbooks by people of color and other underrepresented individuals.

CA Conrad

CAConrad's childhood included selling cut flowers along the highway for his mother and helping her shoplift. He escaped to Philadelphia the first chance he got, where he lives and writes today with the PhillySound poets. He coedits FREQUENCY Audio Journal with Magdalena Zurawski, and edits the 9for9 project. Soft Skull Press
is publishing his first book of poems titled Deviant Propulsion, available in Fall of 2005. His book The Frank Poems is forthcoming from The Jargon Society. He is the author of several chapbooks, including (end-begin w/chants), a collaboration with Frank Sherlock.

I Feel Tractor

Eddie Berrigan is a New York poet and musician who performs under the name of I Feel Tractor. His songs are playful retakes of traditional folk and country genres & their subtle, funny lyrics and far-flung imagery create unusual landscapes of both physical and emotional territory. The author of the poetry collection Disarming
Matter (1999, Owl Press) and several chapbooks, Eddie as I Feel Tractor released a self-titled 7-inch last year (Loudmouth Collective) and just last month released it's first full-length recording, 'Once I Had An Earthquake', on Goodbye Better.

Shafer Hall

Shafer Hall thinks poetry has all the populism of Rock and Roll, and he behaves accordingly, but not so much so that he has tattooed letters on his knuckles. Yet. Shafer Hall’'s poems and collaborations have appeared in LIT, Lungfull!, Puppyflowers, 32 Poems, Unpleasant Event Schedule, Shampoo, and many other journals. He is a Texas poet and playwright living in Brooklyn, the coauthor, with Shanna Compton, of the chapbook Big Confetti, and has also been featured on the Poetic Brooklyn radio show. He is the curator of the Frequency Series at the Four-Faced Liar in Greenwich Village, and has been called “probably the worst bartender in New York City,” an honorific of which he is unusually proud.

So L'il is currently Frances Sorensen & Ben Malkin, all harmonies, run-shimmy drones, waves wash over you juno, go-stutter-step percussion, sail strums gibson, psychedelic lounge folk. In the last four years So L'il has released a 6-song self-titled EP, one split 7-inch with the band Timesbold (both on Neko Recor/ds), the full-length 'Revolution Thumpin', and their most recent full-length, 'Dear Kathy,' both on Goodbye Better. They are currently at work on a new EP.

Its all about sounds and visions that don't have a comfortable place within the realm of normality. Post Pacino is not genre specific nor medium specific. Post Pacino is about a coming together of like minded people doing unlikely things. Post Pacino wants to hear from you if you are an artist of any sort - who finds yourself doing something that most people would consider alienating. We're looking for ARTISTS: PAINTERS, DANCERS, BANDS, MUSICIANS, WRITERS, VIDEO ARTISTS and anybody else who is making something that we've never seen, heard or touched before. We're not looking for a common thread - other than an uncommon nature.

Post-Pacino Spectacular, a new night put together by Merc (of Ifwhen) and Ben (of So L’il) will be the latest Goodbye Better production, and we are more than honored and thrilled to be hosting it at our favorite venue in NYC for half a decade now, Pete’s Candy Store, the last Saturday of each month starting in June.

A circus of sorts based around diversity and fostering communication between different communities, including musicians and bands of multiple genres, painters, poets, theater, dancers, and mostly mad fun, the first Post-Pacino Spectacular will take place Saturday, June 24th. Musicians performing will include:

Katherine Betty Jones will be displaying her paintings.

And the poets Dustin Williamson and Frank Sherlock will be reading.

Additionally, limited edition Goodbye Better compilations and zines will be released in accordance with each performance.
